In January 2026, Panera Bread became the next major organization to be hacked by the group known as ShinyHunters. After a failed attempt to extort Panera Bread, the group released information on 5.1 million unique emails, totaling 15 million records.

Fortunately, passwords were not exposed, but his information can cause damage. Scammers can call pretending to be Panera Bread with the information they have. Given that physical addresses were exposed, scammers could mail out fake sweepstakes or giveaways, as these are customers of Panera Bread.
